About the event
Looking for a quiet place to relax this spring? Attend this monthly HYBRID drop-in pay-as-you-can silent reading space, where we will spend the first 5 - 10 minutes checking in about what we are reading or clarifying our reading goals (optional) followed by 60 - 75 minutes reading before a brief check out (also optional). You may come and go as desired.
Whether you're a bookworm, a student, a writer, or just someone who loves to escape into a good story, this group is for you! You may read, work, or enjoy any silent activity you enjoy. Our spacious and comfortable venue provides the ideal environment for you to dive into your favorite books or hold yourself accountable to focus on your work in a peaceful atmosphere. This is the perfect opportunity to stay connected with fellow book lovers and like-minded individuals while enjoying the peacefulness of the winter season.
BYOB (Bring Your Own Book), borrow from the in-house library or purchase one of the books for sale in the center, such as "Emergent Strategy" by Adrienne Maree Brown or "Healing Justice Lineages" by Cara Page and Erica Woodland.
Feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages to make the experience even more enjoyable.
If you attend in person: while there are chairs, cushions and blankets available, you may bring your favorite blanket or slippers for extra comfort. Water and tea are avaialable in our center with a ramp to the front door and a single lockable bathroom with support bars. Please mask as desired. Masks provided upon request.
If you attend online: your link to join will accompany your confirmation email. Please stay muted, except for the optional check-in and check-out.
